Mountain Water

Rather than spending many hours using a machete on the garden we have employed a gardener, allowing us to make the most of day 1. ( Why is it that we never had a tricalor book with useful phrases when doing GCSE - surely Jean Paul or Christophe must have had to tackle 5ft grass at some point !!! ) .... Back to the travel...

Today we have visited a place called Evian - obviously famous for its mountain water, Evian is on Lake Geneva ( did you know ... Lake Geneva is the largest fresh water lake in Western Europe, holding some 89 trillion litres ).  Evian is a great place, water front, fantastic buildings and parks.  We decided to get a boat across the Lake and venture into Switzerland to a place called Lausanne....

To Ady's happiness we stumbled across some World gymnastic championships which were taking place in an open air, purpose built stage ( Lots of countries competing such as Japan, Germany, South Africa, Sweeden, etc etc. ).  After prizing Ady away from young girls running around in leotards we walked along the marina and then enjoyed a nice lunch.  Interestingly to my amusement all the pizza's were named after famous people.... even David Cameron had his own pizza !!! Adrian ordered a Nicolas Sarkozy ( something spicy ! ) and I ordered a Sharon Stone !!! ( I am sure Ady did a quick glance to ensure I didnt have an ice pick !!! ) - and please no jokes about underwear !!!!  Unfortunately David Cameron didnt wet our appertite however was tempted to Devour George Cloony ( Pizza 276 ! ).

After missing the boat back ( as I failed to read the timetable properly ! ) I was forced to watch the Sweedish gymnastic team again !!!! ha ha ha .... like he would get away with that !!! instead we had a nice walk around the park.

Weather today reached a scorching 36 !!!  ..... I hope the British summer is not letting you down at home.

We are now enjoying a cold beer at our local bar, so signing out for now.
