Off Road

Despite being full of a cold we have again managed to continue our exploration.  leaving " Daveed" to machete the grass, we ventured to a place called Montreux to visit the Chateau Chillon, again in Switzerland.  The castle dates from 1150 and controlled by the Savoy family; the Swiss then conquered the Vaud region and occupied in 1536 ( who would have thought you would have had a history lesson in my blog ! ).  the castle was also a prison at one point - the prison owes its fame to the English poet Lord Byron who in 1816 recounted the tale of capitivity of Francois Bonivard, in his poem called " The prisoner of Chillon ". I put the prison equipment to the test as you can see from the pictures !!!

On our way back from Chateau Chillon  Ady decided to ignore the sat nav as he had seen a bridge that looked a short cut.  In theory his plan would have worked ... except that the bridge was only half finished !!!  We then ended up ralleying around farmers fields having a near miss with an eagle with me screaming in his ear !!!

To calm my nerves we spent the afternoon  by the pool ! perfect !! ... finally a rest.

We are travelling tomorrow from the Alps to Tuscany which we expect to be about 5 - 6 hours.  We are not sure when we will find WIFI again to continue the blog, but hope to report again soon. Fingers crossed my accomodation booking goes as planned !!
