Osifer ... it was only the one beer !!!!

No of mosquitto bites Gill : 27 !!!
No of mosquitto bites Ady : A big fat zero !!! ( so not fair !!! )
No of hangovers from home brew : 1
No of near misses on the road : O
No of strange creepy insects observed : 5,000 !
No of times I have moaned about my cold ( Man Flu variety ) : 50 ( Ady wanted that noting on the blog ! )

Ady, while driving in Italy has taken on a new identity it is " Adyano"... You just have to go with the Italian driving style or die of road rage. I am amazed by what we have seen, people stop in the middle of the road put their hazzards on and go and have a coffee !! Or reverse along a main road, or reverse onto a motorway. It is quite frightening to be honest. Today we have been to Pisa Centre and also been to the coast around Pisa too.  The sat nav is hilarious at Italian ... which is keeping us amused.
Pisa to be honest is not an attractive city, only really famous for its leaning tower. There seems to be quite a bit of regeneration going on, which is much needed. After our sight seeing extravaganza, and venturing on the Italian roads, relaxing by our pool was the order of the day. The boss is now my NBF and has very much given up his surveillance of us, although he has decided to mark our car as his territory !

I was then befriended by a friendly old Cypriot lady, who is in an apartment on the same grounds. She insisted on making me a potent Cypriot coffee. Without wanting to offend her kind hospitality I agreed. Five minutes later she appeared with what I can only describe as treacle, I wasn't sure whether this substance was legal, but swiftly drank it. I have to say it beats any red bull, and I probably will not sleep for the duration of the trip !

In the evening we took a trip into the happening centre of Fauglia, to visit one of only four significant shops, a chemist. This was an attempt to stop the attack of the stealth mode mosquito's ( they don't buzz but certainly bite !!! ) devouring the only remaining 10cm of skin they hadn't eaten the previous night. After the successful trip to the chemist, we decided to pop into the only bar in town ... " Bar Sport "; to be honest the bar didn't look like it knew what sport was, unless " sport" in Italian is roughly translated to " not a lot happening ". If advertising standards existed in Italy this bar would be seriously out of business. We decided to buy two Italian beers at a bargain price of 3 euro's total. Interestingly you then had to take your beer across the road ( which at the time was obviously Fauglia rush hour - 5 cars ) so was fairly tricky ! We then sat outside, where chairs and tables had been set up outside the politizo station !! ( or translated by Ady as the " rossers " ).
This, to be honest was a little unnerving to say the least as it had a camera pointing straight at us !! As soon as sat down the church bells started ringing, which was at a strange time; we believed this signified the arrival of two English tourists at the " Bar Sport ", as to be honest, this event probably happened less often than the Olympics coming to the UK ! Within a couple of minutes the place was filled with locals ( all 10 of them ), each walking past and staring at us ! Ady thought the town looked like it could have been on a spaghetti western directed by Sergio Leonei ( that comment is lost on me ! ).
An unexpected turn in events, when we found out that our host was a  renowned  wine maker in the region ! ... and presented us with a 2007 " Villa Puccini Toscana wine " to try and tempt us away from our usual tipple of an Argentina Malbec !!! ...... It worked , the wine was wonderful, could be a second day with a " home brew " hangover !!! To add to my man flu, and Maleria I may also come down with liver problems !!!!! If I make it to the weekend it will be a good trip !!!!, If I make it through the night we are visiting the beautiful city of Florence.
